Railing

Entrance ideas

The sketches below are some beginning ideas for the entrance.
This entrance idea incorporates all of our material ideas that are inside the space, with wood corner braces, polished metal disks and transparent glass doors.
This idea was the first idea that was introduced to the project, using French doors and existing bricks. After reviewing with the group, we decided that the idea for the entrance should be more prominent in the space.

This entrance idea uses a metal structure that surrounds the exterior doors.

Brand Process

Here are some branding ideas that we had designed to incorporate our bridging idea.:

entrance

These drawings are of the entrance to buffalo bridge. The proposed design consists primarily of 3-Form material on the wall and metal triangular forms that extend out away from the wall. They puncture through the wall and are visible from both the interior and exterior of the space. Two large double glass doors give access to the space.

This entrance is located in the corner of the building by the existing loading dock and is cut at an angle inside the building. The existing doors and some windows will be used as openings creating a new "grand" entry as opposed to the existing door before. The line of the entrance in plan is inspired by the diagonals of the bridge as well as the diagonal line of the foundation.

Developing ideas further with the last idea

Installation Idea #1

Reviewing with Suzanne:
  • MORE DYNAMIC
  • If simple we need to be precise with craft
  • Take advantage of the space
  • Don't necessarily have to use corner wall
  • Keep model display below eye level
